Marla Moore is a Designer and Letterer raised in the Kentucky bluegrass with a BFA from Murray State University. After beginning her design career in Nashville, she moved to Seattle in April of 2012 to work at a design agency in Pioneer Square. It was then that she picked up a brush pen for the first time and began teaching herself to letter. Marla spent a couple years working with brands like Pepsi, Tropicana and Redbull before she was recruited by Amazon to help guide the visual language of their cloud computing system, Amazon Web Services. She spends her free time honing her lettering abilities, hiking and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her Australian shepherd, Reesie.

This workshop is an introduction to hand-lettering, and focuses on the tips and techniques for crafting hand-lettered art with various mediums. Students should come prepared with a favorite phrase or lyric in mind. By the end of the workshop, we'll aim to walk away with a hand-lettered piece of art and a basic understanding of the ins and outs of lettering.
