Born and raised in Seattle, Virginia holds a BA from Macalester College and a MFA in Printmaking from the University of Notre Dame. She teaches at Pratt Fine Arts Center, Stadium High School, Kirkland Arts Center, Seattle Art Museum, and many more places. Looking at Virginia's work feels either like peering through a microscope at the smallest living forms or searching a vast topography to find your route through. There is a sense of scale and movement to her work.
