Amy is an independent, Seattle-based, visual designer who works and plays in the space where the digital and analog worlds unexpectedly overlap. While working as a book designer in the late 1990s, a need for more hands-on creative work & an interest in typography led Amy to an apprenticeship with Stern & Faye, Letterpress Printers. Close to 20 years later and 4 tons heavier (presses aren't light, you know), she spreads the gospel of letterpress through classes at the School of Visual Concepts. When not in her studio (Amada Press), Amy has been found designing for a variety of clients ranging from the Rat City Rollergirls & KEXP to Kindle & Microsoft. When you meet her, be sure to ask about the time she ran away from the circus.
